Mayor Calls for Tax Assessor Investigation

At the Mayor & Council meeting on June 15, residents supplied documents which demonstrated a potential improper tax rebate awarded to the owners of 188 Broadway. As a cost saving measure, Woodcliff Lake uses the Paramus Tax Assessor. Therefore, his boss is the Mayor of Paramus who is also a partner of the 188 Broadway property.

According to the documents presented by residents, this Paramus Tax Assessor awarded the 188 Broadway owners a reduction of $50,000 in WCL yearly taxes.

WCL Mayor Rendo has instructed the WCL Legal Counsel to investigate this potentially improper transaction.
