Traffic Counts for Broadway and Woodcliff Ave

From a period between Nov 28, 2018 and December 6, 2018 police chief Anthony Jannicelli conducted a traffic count. The results are as follows:

  • Woodcliff Ave crossing the causeway westbound: 4,041 vehicles - Nov 28
  • Woodcliff Ave crossing the causeway eastbound: 9,450 vehicles - Dec 12
  • Broadway southbound: 4,561 vehicles - Dec 4
  • Broadway northbound: 5,528 vehicles - Dec 6

How is adding apartments to the Broadway Corridor beneficial to the town's busiest intersection?

188 Broadway is adjacent to the intersection of Broadway and the train station. Three-hundred feet just north of the train station is the planned Affordable Housing settlement and north of that is the designated Affordable Housing at the VFW site. Broadway is a narrow road which cannot be widened due to topography limitations with the lake on the west side of the road.

The 188 Broadway case is not an isolated case. All the planned development on Broadway needs to be factored. If not carefully thought out, Broadway will become extremely congested and getting across the Causeway a nightmare.
